Trivia – Rohit Shetty is the son of fight master and actor MB Shetty. He started his career at an early of 15, as an assistant director with Kuku Kohli on Phool Aur Kaante (1991), Ajay Devgan’s debut film.

Biography – Rohit Shetty is the son of fight master Shetty. At a very early age, he decided that he would venture into directing. He started his career by assisting Kuku Kohli. Phool Aur Kaante (1991), Ajay Devgan’s debut movie was his first project. This was followed by Ek Aur Kohinoor, Suhaag (1994), Haqueeqat (1995), and Zulmi (1999). He then went on to work with Anees Bazmi as assistant director for Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha (1998). He worked as associate director for Devgan’s Home Production, Raju Chacha (2000) and Hindustan Ki Kasam.

He made his debut as a director with Zameen (2003) starring Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu. He then came out with Golmaal (2005). The movie was a rib-tickling, slapstick comedy rollercoaster. It became an instant hit. This led him to make Golmaal Returns (2006) and Golmaal 3 (2010). All the Best (2009) starring Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse and Sanjay Dutt was yet another laugh riot! Sunday (2008) received a lukewarm response from the audience.

His only release in 2011 was Ajay Devgan starrer action film Singham which was among the most commercially successful films of the year.

His forthcoming releases are Bol Bachchan and Chennai Express.
